Akuffo Addo rush to lobby for the Commonwealth Games abandoned by Australia

The President of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo has rushed to the Commonwealth Games secretariat to sweet-talk the officials to have Ghana to host the 2026 Commonwealth Games relinquished by the Australia.

According to sources available to this network, the Australian state of Victoria will not be able to host the forthcoming 2026 Commonwealth Games due to projected cost overruns, placing the future of the multi- sports event in limbo.

Victorian Premier Dan Andrews disclosed on Tuesday that the cost of the Games has ballooned from $2.6 billion to between to almost $7 billion.

“We have informed Commonwealth Games Authorities of our decision to seek to terminate the contract”

The aforementioned statement from the stables of Australia throws the future of the 2026 Games in doubt, but also calls into query the future of a bid put forward by Alberta to host the games in 2030.

Meanwhile, sources say President Nana Addo is on the neck of the Commonwealth Games Authorities  seeking for the Games to be held in Ghana for reasons best known to the first gentleman of the land.

Nana Akuffo-Addo is known for his lavish lifestyle wishes to use the games to spend more money causing increased financial woes to the people of Ghana.

An insider has disclosed that, the government of Ghana is in a clandestine move to use the games as a bait to borrow more money on the market which eventually would affect National debt stock, something which is entirely inimical to the progress of the country.

The current New Patriotic Party (NPP) has absolutely nothing to show for the huge loans acquired within the 7 years of it’s administration.

Fact checked, Ghana’s debt to GDP ratio was highly unsustainable and much worse than when the country joined the HIPC debt relief program in the year 2001, but now President Akuffo Addo has added more to the public debt than any government had done in the history of Ghana.

Upon all the reckless borrowing there are no infrastructure projects to account for the colossal amount of money borrowed by the government but has the urge to soft sell the Commonwealth games authorities for Ghana to host the tournament so to milk the country to the detriment of the ordinary Ghanaian.
