2 Separate Road Accidents Claim Almost 100 Citizens

On Friday March 22nd, 2019, Ghana recorded two separate road accidents which claimed almost 100 citizens lives.

The state of public transport continues to concern motorist and the larger Ghanaian communities. Ghanaians are asking questions whether the authorities will come up with any credible solutions to curb the unnecessary number of deaths claimed by road accidents.

One accident which occurred on the early hours of Friday killed at least 60 people in a head-on collision between two buses on the Tamale-Kintampo highway in Ghana’s Bono East Region.

The police say the incident occurred at around 2:00 a.m. and one of the buses caught fire after the crash.

The second fatal road accident happened at Ekumfi Dunkwa on the Cape Coast-Accra road.

Some 10 passengers were confirmed dead while many sustained various injuries in an accident that eye witnesses say could have been avoided at Ekumfi Dunkwa on the Winneba Cape Coast Highway.
