Some four million voters from selected areas in Ghana are expected to cast their vote in today’s historic referendum for the creation of six new regions.
The proposed regions are Savanah, Bono East, Oti, Western North, North East and Ahafo Regions.
It is required that at least 50% of the electorates show up for the election out of which 80% must vote YES to have the region created.
Ghanamatters.com will be reporting on voter turnouts and general atmosphere as the day progress. It is expected that, all six proposed regions will receive a YES vote.
