If Asiedu Nketiah will continue working for NPP he’ll retain his post – Wontumi

The outspoken Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi  Boasiako, aka Chairman Wontumi, has thrown a challenge to the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Asiedu Nketiah, daring him to discontinue working for the elephant family and he will see his ‘real size’.

He said if the NDC Chief Scribe popularly known as General Mosquito will continue working for the NPP, then he should consider retaining his post as the General Secretary of the umbrella family since he and the NPP are going to decide the outcome of the polls when the ‘Akatamansonians’ meet in November 2018 to elect their national executives.

However, should General Mosquito break the working relationship with the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition, then he should consider himself losing his position to the former Communications Director at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho.

Anyidoho is currently a deputy General Secretary of the NDC and has mounted a spirited challenge to contest his boss for the General Secretary position of the party.

Many have seen the contest to be a closely fought one considering the grassroots support the duo enjoy from the party.

However, the odds favour General Mosquito considering the wealth of experience he has gained over the years in handling the General Secretary position of the party.

Wontumi interacting with Accra-based Okay FM last week alleged that General Mosquito has been retaining his post because of the support he receives from the NPP as a result of his good working relationship with the elephant family but cautioned that all was set to change if the NDC Chief Scribe decides to do otherwise.

“If Asiedu Nketiah will continue to work for me and the NPP, he will retain his post. We [NPP] will determine his fate. Whether he will win or lose, everything is in my hands. So, if Asiedu Nketiah will work for me and the NPP like he did in 2016, we will let him win the contest. He is currently on a political life support and if he jokes, we will deflate it and that will be his end”, he noted.
