Flintstone Technology wins a multi-million pound contract on FPSO in Ghana.

The Dundee-based firm has secured the contract with platform supply firm MODEC for a mooring system to be used on Kwame Nkrumah MV21  the floating, production, storage and offloading vessel.

Jubilee is one of the largest oil fields to be discovered in West Africa in the last decade.

Tullow averaged 89,600 barrels of oil per day from the field last year.

Managing director of Flintstone, Andrew Clayson said: “We are very pleased to see our technology being used to provide a solution to what is a complex and challenging situation with the existing mooring arrangement.

“We look forward to working with MODEC and Tullow on the project.”

It is not clear what sort of services Flinstone will be providing to Tullow. Ghana has a local content law and this paper hopes to find out whether the tender process followed Ghana’s local content provisions.
