Just in: UCC Postpones Prof. John Evans Fiifi Atta-Mills’ Lecture Indefinitely

Late Prof John Atta-Mills

The management of the University of Cape Coast have confirmed in a letter, dated July 14 2020, that this year’s annual commemorative lecture in honour of the late president, Prof John Evans Fiifi Atta-Mills has been put on hold.

This will be the first time ever such event have been postponed since its inception.

The annual public lecture which alternates between the University of Cape Coast and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), won’t happen until further notice, the statement by the UCC has said.

In this era of virtual learning, whereby, the possibilities to educations has changed significantly, it is unclear how the University authorities could conclude that organising such a public lecture online was not possible due to the COVID-19 pandemic?

Surprisingly, according to the University of Cape Coast Event’s calendar sighted by Ghanamatters.com, since the pandemic begun, the university has held over four major conferences of which some were online and others conducted on campus.
