Just in: NPP Vice Chairman allegedly arrested over the killing of Mfantsiman MP

The Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Mfantsiman Constituency, Yaw Berchie Nuako, has been allegedly arrested in connection with the murder of the late MP, Ekow Quansah Hayford.

Mr Yaw Berchie Nuako was among the four persons who were stopped by the arm robbers on the 8th October 2020 which led the the late MP’s untimely death.

Sources say the account of Yaw Berchie Nuako did not check out as he consistently gave different account to the police on what happened on the faithful day.

The police say they are investigating how come the constituency vice chairman’s phone was not taken by the robbers at the time of the heist?

Mr Yaw Berchie Nuako has been on record in recent times as the key architect championing the selection of Mrs Ophelia Hayford as the preferred candidate to replace the murdered MP for the Mfantsiman Constituency.

The police have also confirmed an arrest of five persons in connection with the slain MP’s murder.
