Breaking: Ghanaian diplomat leaves gold bar worth GHC 1.2m on a Swiss train


A luggage reportedly missing on a Switzerland bound train from France has been found and ceased by the Switzerland police.

According to the Switzerland authorities the lost but found luggage contained among others items, a gold bar worth Sfr. 188.000.00 which is equivalent to GHC 1.147.292.29.

Sources say the Ghanaian diplomat was traveling on a train from the northern town of St. Gallen, Switzerland October  2019. He fell asleep and missed his destination station. So he had to travel back to his destination where he got asleep again.

Upon arrival at his destination he forgot his luggage containing a gold bar worth sfr. 188.000.00 on the train.

In other stories the Swiss authorities initially speculated the gold belonged to a business operating in Ghana. However, forensics have shown the luggage belongs to a Ghanaian diplomat who was on the train according to CCTV.

The diplomat who is serving in this current administration led by President Nana Addo, has giving statement to the Switzerland police.

According to the Swiss law, the Gold bar was not declared at any Swiss border so he had to pay a fine to clear it.

The Gold bar is still in the hands of the Swiss Police since October 24th 2019.
