Technical hitch stops NIA’s planned rollout of Ghana Card registration

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the immediate suspension of the planned rollout of the Ghana Card registration exercise.

According to the NIA, its National Identification System has suffered a technical hitch which has affected its ability to commence the rollout as scheduled.

The NIA planned to begin registration from Monday, 28th May, 2018 to Friday, 8th June, 2018 but has consequently apologised to a number of institutions scheduled to start the exercise.

“Details of the technical difficulties will be communicated to the general public in due course,” a statement issued Monday by the Authority and signed by ACI Francis Palmdeti, Ag. Director Corporate Affairs said.

It assured that a technical team is working to resolve the issue for registration to begin and that under the circumstance, registration remains suspended until the problem is completely resolved.

“The NIA unreservedly apologises to the personnel of the following institutions who were to begin registration this morning at 7:00am for the inconvenience they have had to endure:

  • Jubilee House
  • Judicial Service
  • Ministry of Defence
  • National Security
  • BNI
  • MOFARI (Research Dept)
  • Ghana Police Service
  • Ghana Immigration Service
  • Ghana Prison Service
  • Ghana National Fire Service.
