Stonebwoy’s 40-yrs claim disrespectful to entertainment industry – Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo

Entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo says Stonebwoy disrespected the entertainment industry when he asserted at the 2019 4Syte Music Video Awards that it will take 40 years to find another Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and himself in the Ghanaian music industry.

While performing at the Awards ceremony, the dancehall artiste, declared, “Big up to SM, Shatta Wale my brother and Sarkodie my brother. It will take another 40 years to find me, Sarkodie and Shatta in this industry. We are national assets, if you like don’t protect, if you like protect.”

But Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo said if he sees musicians supporting Stonebwoy’s statement, he sees them in a certain light because Stonebwoy’s statement is an indictment on the industry and every player.

“Stonebwoy didn’t show appreciation to the industry; he showed lack of disrespect for the industry….This same industry has supported old musicians, new musicians and the upcoming generations,” Arnold told Christian Agyei Frimpong host of AnigyeMmre on Onua 95.1FM.

“What has Stonebwoy, Sarkodie and Shattawale got? Stonebwoy has talent, the talent has given him fame, popularity, and he has international appeal which has given him endorsement deals and fanbase, does it mean in the next 40-years we won’t have anybody with all these?” Arnold questioned.

“Critically, how long has Stonebwoy been in the industry, it is less than 10-years, so if for Stonebwoy it took less than 10-years to make it, why do you say it will take 40-years to find your kind in the industry,” he added
