Obour appointed as the acting managing director of Ghana Post

President Akufo-Addo has appointed Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour) as the acting managing director of Ghana Post Company Ltd, asaaseradio.com has filed.

Bice Osei Kuffour contested the NPP primaries elections in the Asante Akyem South constituency as a parliamentary candidate. He was later appointed as secretary to the NPP 2020 Campaign Ashanti Region Advertising Committee.

The appointment is in an acting capacity, as it is subject to regularization in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Companies Act and the company’s regulation.

Mr Osei Kuffour comes to the new job with his work cut out for him: to see to the expansion of the company’s postal network to viable areas and to improve service to non-viable areas.

Over the past four years, Ghana Post has been on a path to turnaround, leading to significant growth through innovation, the introduction of innovative services and expansion of its fleet.

The digitisation of post offices across Ghana has been at the centre of the turnaround strategy, allowing the company flexibility to add on new services easily. At the same time, the government’s introduction of a digital addressing system has enhanced delivery of mail and parcels.

The company’s online platform, “Ghpostpay”, was launched in 2019 to allow customers to access Ghana Post services remotely. Ghana Post’s significant growth and contribution over the past three years have been recognised by international and local partners alike in the form of awards:

Best EMS Call Centre 2017 and Best Customer Care Award 2018, both by the Universal Postal Union in Switzerland.

Obour is the immediate past president of the Musicians Union of Ghana, and the founder of Family Tree Entertainment.
