Former MCE Kofi Ahiabor dead in a suspected suicide

A former municipal chief executive (MCE) of the Keta Municipal Assembly Edward Kofi Ahiabor has died.

His body was found in an uncompleted building near his father’s residence at Anloga.

It is not clear what may have induced him to take his own life. No suicide note was found at the scene.

The MCE was once the Best farmer in the district and previously served as MCE in 2004.

A Career Farmer, Mr Ahiabor was the MCE of the Keta Municipal Assembly from 2004 to 2008, and until his death, the Production and Quality Control Manager of Tip Top Foods Ltd, which he established in 1991.

He held BSc. Agriculture, University of Ghana and MPhil. Soil Science, University of Ghana, and was in 1992,1995-97 Head of the Science Department of the Anlo Secondary School.

Mr. Ahiabor was among five persons who were honoured as Volta’s heroes in 2015 by the Volta Heroes foundation.
