First wave of artists revealed for Afro Nation Ghana

The festival takes to Laboma Beach, Accra this December.

The team behind Afro Nation Portugal have announced details of their brand new festival Afro Nation Ghana.

The news follows the announcement that tickets for Afro Nation Portugal are now sold out.

Afro Nation Ghana takes place on the beautiful Laboma Beach, Accra from 27 – 30 December 2019.

Bringing together the biggest names in afrobeat, hip-hop, RnB, dancehall and bashment, the event promises a truly unique experience for festival-goers.

Fresh from his performance at California’s Coachella Festival, Nigerian reggae dancehall artist Burna Boy will headline the first edition of Afro Nation Ghana. The musician is perhaps best known for his 2018 crossover single Ye. 

Worldwide phenomenon Davido will also headline at this year’s event. Davido is best known for tracks such as Fall, If and Assurance

Alkaline, who combines US hip hop and Jamaican dancehall influences to create his unique sound, has also been confirmed to headline the festival this December.

Global superstar Wizkid, who many will know for featuring on the Drake smash One Dance will also appear as a headline act at Afro Nation Ghana.

Completing the headliners for the festival’s first year will be Stonebwoy, who recently dropped his latest single, the Beenie Man collaboration Shuga and Ghana’s own self confessed ‘King of The Dancehall’ Shatta Wale.

Further artists appearing at the three-day event include Kidi, Kuamai, La Meme Gang, Naira Marley, NOT3S, Teni, The Compozers, Wendy Shay, Yemi Alade, and YXNG BANE.

DJs Distruction Boyz, DJ Obi and DJ Vyrusky will be spinning tunes over the weekend.

Promising to bring some of the world’s best artists to a truly unique setting, the first ever Afro Nation Ghana takes over Laboma Beach, Accra from 27–30 December 2019.
