The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has opened nominations for regional positions in all the 16 regions from today, Monday, 1 July 2019 to Monday, 8 July 2019.

The party is also starting a three-day prayer and fasting.

The party, in a statement signed by Mr James Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr., Ag. General Secretary, entreated Ghanaians to treat these exercises with seriousness toward the rebuilding process of the Conscientious People’s Platform.

The offices to be contested are Chair, First Vice Chair, Second Vice Chair, Third Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Organiser, Women’s Organiser, Youth Organiser and Education Secretary.

The forms are available in all regional offices of the party.

Fees being charged for the nominations are GHS3,500 for the Chair slot; GHS2,500 for Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer; GHS2,000 for Organiser, Women’s Organiser, Youth Organiser and Education Secretary.

Regional office aspirants will be vetted between 11 and 18 July.

The CPP said elections would be held in four zones, namely; Zone One – Upper East, Upper West, North East and Northern; Zone Two – Savanna, Bono, Bono East, Ahafo and Oti; Zone Three – Western, Western North, Central and Eastern; Zone Four – Greater Accra, Ashanti and Volta on July 25, August 1, August 8 and August 15, respectively.

The CPP further noted that it is rallying all the hearts and minds of Ghanaians dissatisfied with the duopoly of sameness since 1993 to show a difference by joining forces to show a difference in serving the people of Ghana.

“For the CPP, leadership is service to God and fellow humankind and not abuse, debauchery or self-gloating, as we continue to witness under this Fourth Republican dispensation. To change the power structure, mobilisation and allocation of resources, the CPP will lead to completely change the 1992 Constitution, which constitutes the foundation to the deceptive life Ghana is leading particularly in governance,” the statement said.
