Anglican Bishop of Tamale passes

The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Tamale, the Right Reverend Dr Jacob Kofi Ayeebo has passed on.

He died in the late morning of Tuesday after his usual morning exercise at the Bolgatanga mission house, where he heads the Anglican Diocesan Development and Relief Organisation (ADDRO).

According to Cannon Dennis Tong, Parish Priest of the Saint Cyprian Anglican Church, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency, the Bishop was rushed to the Regional hospital in Bolgatanga by some workers of ADDRO who had reported to work at the time, but he was pronounced dead by doctors on arrival.

Before his demise, the deceased Bishop was the immediate past Member of the Council of State for the Upper East Region and the Board Chairman of the Toende Rural Bank with headquarters in Zebilla, the Bawku West District capital.

He chaired several Boards and Committees in the region including; the Health Assistant Training school at Zuarungu before his death.

The body has been moved to the Tamale Teaching hospital for autopsy and preservation.
