Akuffo Addo on reckless borrowing spree – Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has chastised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration over borrowing recklessly in the past two years without nothing to show for.

Speaking on RadioGold in Accra, Mr Mahama said his government was accused of over borrowing but, much was done with such loans on development projects such as the construction of schools, hospitals, roads and the airport terminals.

“I have something to offer. Ghanaians have seen what I can offer. The change of 2016 has not brought about any positive outcomes. The plans we laid out were very clear, and if followed would have moved us forward faster. Today, Ghanaians are the judges,” Mr Mahama stated.

Mr Mahama is among seven aspirants seeking to lead the NDC in the 2020.

Other aspirants are the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin; Prof. Joshua Alabi; Mr Sylvester Mensah; Mr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah; Alhaji Nurideen Iddrisu, and Mr Goosie Tanoh.

The poll will take place on Saturday, February 23, in all the party’s constituencies nationwide and will be conducted by the Electoral Commission.
